  4. Shoes: Bring the shoes you intend to wear with your dress to ensure the dress hem is accurate.
  5. Jewelry: You are more than welcome to try on any and all accessories in front of the mirror during your fitting!
  6. Photos or Inspiration: Bring any photos or inspiration images to help convey your vision to the seamstress if you want to change the design of your dress.

I’ve put together a little checklist to calm those fitting fears. Here is everything you need for your first bridal fitting:

  1. Wedding Dress: This should be obvious, but make sure you have the dress (or dresses) along that you intend to wear on your wedding day.
  2. Slip or Crinoline: If you have a slip or crinoline to add fullness to the skirt, bring it with you to each fitting.
  3. Undergarments/Shapewear: Bring any undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear with your wedding dress, including a bra if needed. I recommend getting seamless, nude-colored undergarments.
  4. Embellishments: If there is anything you want added to your dress (such as a belt, straps, or extra lace), bring it along to your first fitting.
